This is Maddie’s final week of post-op rehab. She has come such a long way! Since she is using her left hind leg more, we will continue to concentrate on strengthening and getting her back to normal daily use.
This week’s new exercise is “3-Legged Stands”. We lift one of Maddie’s opposite legs to shift her weight to her left hind. By lifting her front leg, we shift the weight to both hind legs. By lifting the right hind, we shift the weight to her left hind. This is the more difficult of the two.
Maddie has made great progress with her post-op rehab. At home she will continue to exercise and increase the amount of time walking. We will recheck her in 2 weeks. Maddie will continue with maintenance rehab to keep her hips and knees comfortable.
