About one month ago we got a phone call from another local business, near the interstate, regarding a frisky pup. It’s not unusual for dogs to get loose from travelers or be dumped in such locations. Luckily the pup was very friendly and allowed the employees to slip a lead around him and bring him in to Electric City Animal Clinic for evaluation. Upon arrival he was scanned for a microchip; https://public.homeagain.com/how-pet-microchipping-works.html, sadly he did not have one.
Peter is an approximately 2 year old shepherd mix. He is full of energy and loves to be active. Just show him a ball and a little love and he is one happy boy. He loves to get treats and is very gentle in receiving them. Peter has yet to meet a stranger. This leads us to believe he was not out on the run long. He has been around cats and dogs here in the clinic and shows no aggressive behavior; however, Peter would be best in a home that does not have indoor birds. He has been vaccinated against rabies, distemper-parvo, and bordetella. Peter has also been tested for heartworms, and as with most lost babies, is positive. (For more information on heartworms visit https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics) He has been treated with antibiotics and started on a heartworm preventative that also doubles as a treatment and will continue with future treatment. Peter is neutered.
This sweet baby will be wonderful addition to any active family or family with a big yard to run in. I believe he has a lot of love to give and is eager to meet his furever home. He is currently up for adoption at Electric City Animal Clinic. For more information or to meet Peter please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 864-225-0015.
